Local kitchen retailer, Majestyk Interiors, answers DIY SOS

Harrogate-based kitchen retailer, Majestyk Interiors, has answered one family’s kitchen nightmares, donating and installing a stunning new solid oak kitchen live on the popular prime time TV programme DIY SOS.
The programme, which airs at the end of this month (31 August), sees one lucky family enjoy a home makeover courtesy of Nick Knowles’ DIY team and the owner of Majestyk Interiors in Harrogate, Wil Golby.
Wil personally undertook the kitchen makeover for the last episode of the popular prime time TV programme, DIY SOS, helping to completely transform the kitchen into a hard-working, family room where the family can eat together and the children can play.

Wil says: “I was absolutely thrilled to be approached to get involved with this project. When I first heard about the tragic circumstances of the family, I just knew this would be an exciting and satisfying makeover to be involved with.
“The owner had recently lost her husband to cancer, leaving her with a house to renovate. The couple had worked extremely hard to get the house of their dreams, so friends and family were pulling together to get it all finished just the way they would have both wanted it.”

Working with the DIY SOS team, Wil spent the week installing the new kitchen using the solid oak Vancouver kitchen range from Gallery. Wil helped plan the new kitchen incorporating a mixture of base and wall units, hard wearing work top and even integrated existing appliances such as an American style fridge freezer, which he housed in a bespoke unit with additional overhead storage for a completely co-ordinated look.

Wil continues: “The whole team was thrilled with the final kitchen design. I had great fun working with the DIY SOS team and the family were over the moon with their new kitchen.”
Based in Back Dragon Road, Harrogate, Wil opened the Majestyk Interiors showroom in 2006. A family run business, Wil specialises in designing, supplying and installing a wide range of high quality kitchens to home owners as well as the local building trade.

He offers a complete design and installation, seeing the project through from the concept stage to the final finishing touches. The showroom also has a range of bathrooms and tiles available, offering a complete home makeover solution.
Not a stranger to the building trade, Wil has been running his own building company for the past 15 years, before branching out into the retail kitchen and bathroom business. Wil lives in Harrogate with his wife and two young boys.
